One of Boise’s most beloved parks, Ann Morrison features several loop hikes with river frontage, fountains and open space. Constructed in 1959, Ann Morrison Park also features ballfields, a playground, disc golf course and a duck pond.

Mature trees provide shade along much the pathway in this neighborhood park adjacent to Collister School in Northwest Boise. The pathway rings connects a reservable shelter and restroom with sports fields, a playground, volleyball pit and public art.

Charles F. McDevitt Youth Sports Complex

Youth baseball fields, a skate park and fishing pond are this park’s most recognizable features. Visitors can walk on interior pathways or on a paved loop ringing the edge of the 30-acre park boundary located at the busy intersection of Eagle and McMillan roads.

A haven for birds, Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve offers a tranquil experience for visitors to this West Boise natural area. A new gravel pathway system with bridges links to restrooms and interpretive signs. The 54-acre wetland also features an innovative stormwater treatment system. Dogs and bicycles are prohibited in this park.

Optimist Youth Sports Complex is a 51-acre park located in Northwest Boise. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Boise Noon Optimist Club, the park features sports fields, open play areas, a fishing pond, tennis court and public art. A paved pathway circles the pond and runs through the center of the park.

One of the city’s newest parks, Redwood Park is located in West Boise near Ustick and Five Mile. The paved walking path can be accessed on two sides of the park, which features a large playground, open areas and a fishing pond. Dogs are allowed off-leash throughout the entire park from sunrise to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to sunset.

A large regional park located at State Street and Veterans Parkway, Veterans features numerous memorials honoring veterans, POWs and survivors of the battle of Wake Island. Winstead is a popular 11-acre park located near Curtis Road in an older residential neighborhood. A paved pathway circles two sports fields and connects a large playground, a reservable picnic shelter and four tennis courts. Dogs are allowed off leash in a designated area from sunrise-8 a.m. June 1–Aug. 31, sunrise-10 a.m. Sept.1-May 31, and 3 p.m.-sunset Nov. 1–Feb. 1.
